WDA is all about friends and colleagues sharing knowledge and good times. Much of this occurs at WDA Conferences.
Several hundred WDA folks who were at the August 2020 WDA Conference at Lake Tahoe, CA saw Dr. Pete Morkel's powerful presentation on the state of wildlife conservation in Africa. The video should be made available this week via the WDA News and Announcements.
For those who are interested in his life and his work, a book, 'Diamonds on The Soles of His Feet' is available from Amazon, or from his brother (see below). It's hard to overstate how much Pete and his colleagues have contributed to the conservation and welfare of Africa's megafauna.
For those who are moved to do something to help, Pete is in a tough spot. He has an aggressive form of cancer that is resistant to radiation and chemotherapy but seems likely to respond to immunotherapy. Unfortunately that is a very expensive, so several of Pete's friends have started a GoFundMe site to raise what is needed. Please see:
