This presentation provides a practical review for veterinary professionals, covering essential topics from anatomy, behavior, and husbandry to key clinical techniques, such as physical examination, venipuncture, radiography, sedation, and fluid therapy. The TWS Nutritional Ecology Working Group defines nutritional ecology as the science of relating an animal to its environment through nutritional interactions, involving nutritional requirements, food availability and quality, foraging and life history strategies, changes in body mass and condition, with implications for reproduction, survival, and population performance. The University of Nottingham will play host to the 2026 event which will explore the theme of Birds and People, a dynamic relationship of myriad positives and negatives. Call for Abstracts Now Open - closes January 20, 2026 Understanding Livestock > Wildlife > Human > Environmental Health connections are critical in meeting challenges of disease disasters involving depopulation, decontamination, and disposal activities. Response to highly-consequential animal disease is not limited to farm animals and disposal of wildlife, marine mammals, fish or other species may be necessary. The symposium to be held in Wisconsin, USA will highlight new research, case studies, and field experiences related to recent animal mortality disposal methodologies. One Health discussions, most recently HPAI in multiple species, as well as critical assessments of public policy to capture and disseminate new information on these topics, and stimulate additional research, policy, and educational programs are on the agenda. ![]() 8th European Congress for Conservation Biology - July 6-10, 2026
